During the 1950's, the church leadership saw the need for a new building program and put plans in place to reach that goal.

It was during this period of time that the farming community of South Point was going through a transition. Industry had moved in and that created a business and residential explosion. It was this growth that led to the plans for a new church. This goal was reached in 1964 when the new brick church was completed, replacing the white frame building.
